St. FX 94, UPEI 83

From the UPEI Basketball blog with thanks... UPEI took an early 8-5 lead in the mens game coming out fired up in front of a capacity crowd on a Terrence Brown runner. ST FX was able to score some easy transition hoops to take the lead and move ahead holding a lead that UPEI was able to trim to a single bucket during the first half but could not overtake the X-Men.
The Panthers were down 48-37 at the break, but stormed out outscoring X 27-20 in the third quarter behind the dynamic duo of first year Panthers Brown and Matt Fennell as the two players could not miss from the perimeter. UPEI was down 68-66 with over a minute left in the quarter, but X's Christian Upshaw hit two back breaking three pointers to give X the lead, and momentum back.
"We have to maintain focus through the game" Panther coach Matt Davies said afterwards. "We played well, but lost focus and allowed them to hit some shots and end the quarter on a positive note after playing so well"
Brown scored a game high 28 going 4-7 from three, Fennell 19 hitting all 5 of his three point attempts, Manock Lual 17, and Mike Hardy 8.
Upshaw led X with 22, Will Silver 16, and Charlie Spurr 13.
