Dinos, Top teams tip-off on west coast
The Calgary Dinos finish off their pre-Christmas Canada West schedule with two tough games on the west coast, first on Friday against the Trinity Western Spartans (3-2), and then Saturday at Simon Fraser (5-0). Calgary, #4 in the CIS National Rankings, will look to play more consistently than they did last weekend at U of S, where they lacked intensity in Friday’s loss to the Huskies.
Trinity Western have, themselves, been a bit of an enigma this early season, as they have dropped two home games, and not shown the consistent power predicted for them with their high profile recruits, and number of quality returnees. The two teams match up very well in size, and, in their Saturday game, a win at home over Victoria, TWU started big, with the line-up shown following. Shooting guard Louis Hurd saw little action in that game, but his long-range threat should be part of their attack this weekend against Calgary and Lethbridge.
