Carleton 80, Western 72

In a game described as an "ugly, foul-filled street fight", the Ravens outlasted Western on Sunday afternoon. 5'11" Willy Manigat had 23 points (3-9 3's), 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead Carleton while 6'8" Kevin McCleery had 21 and 7 rebounds on 10-18 shooting. 5'11" Ryan Barbeau was outstanding for Western with 24 points, taking on much more of a scoring role with 6'6" Garrett Olexiuk and 6'5" Andrew Wedemire fighting foul trouble all afternoon. The match was high (or low) lighted by two technical fouls as one official gave each coach second-half T's, beginning with Carleton coach Dave Smart. Midway through the fourth-quarter, Western Coach Brad Campbell was assessed his technical for debating the fifth foul on Olexiuk, who was guarding Ravens McCleery in the low block. Olexiuk and Western's best overall scorer on the young season, Wedemire both had their time limited by fouls but the 'Stangs stayed in the game: it was a two possession game with 6 minutes remaining when Olexiuk fouled out.
