Rouge et Or rip Redmen from the McGill Tribune

Fresh off a convincing 103-68 preseason win over UPEI last week, the McGill men's basketball team looked to start the regular season on a positive note, as they took on the Laval Rouge et Or in front of a packed gymnasium on Sunday afternoon. What started with a bang, though, soon sputtered and fizzled out, as the Redmen succumbed to Laval's constant pressure, losing 69-94.

McGill came out of the gates on fire, with senior guard Matthew Thornhill burying a three-pointer a little more than a minute in to cap an early 7-0 run. The Redmen looked focussed and energetic, forcing turnovers, capitalizing on offence, and limiting the opposition to one shot. The Redmen seemed to counter everything a strong Laval team threw their way, and ended the quarter tied at 20 apiece.

Acadia looks to RED OUT War Memorial for Home Opener

The Axemen play their first game of the regular season at home in the War Memorial Gymnasium as they host the UPEI Panthers.

The event has been deemed a RED OUT as the Axemen look to their faithful to be dressed in RED to support their team at home. Fresh off two wins at Memorial the second being a dramatic 1 point buzzer beater from Casey Fox the young and talented group are fun to watch.
