Toronto 64, Guelph 61
The Blues had their second straight late, comeback win against snakebitten Guelph which again gave up a late lead at home. The Gryphs played a solid defensive game and again rode the hot shooting of fifth-year 6'4" wing Jay Mott to lead for much of the game until Toronto took the lead with about 4 minutes remaining in the game. The lead then changed hands several times before 6'3" Patrick Sewell (11 points, 5 rebounds) knocked in his only 3 of the game with about 2 1/2 minutes remaining as the Blues never trailed again. 6'2" Nick Magalas (14 points in 39 minutes) had 2 big makes down the stretch while 6'8" Nick Snow had 4 of his 11 points down the stretch to keep the Gryphs at bay. Mott was again outstanding for Guelph with 24 points and 12 boards but missed a couple of deep, open looks late in the game, including a shot at the buzzer to tie after Toronto's 6'6" Drazen Glizic missed a pair of free throws with Toronto up 3. Dan McCarthy was the only other Gryphon in double digits with 10 points.
