Brock 80, Ryerson 69

The Badgers finished the game on a 17-4 run, coming back from a 13 point deficit late in the third quarter to defeat the Rams in St. Catharines this afternoon. 6'4" Clinton Springer-Williams scored 8 points in the late run including the go-ahead jumper with 2:23 to play. With the score tied at 67, point guard Joel Whitty found the fabulous freshman for a jumper and the Badgers never looked back. Springer-Williams finished with 23 points including 9-9 from the free throw line while Whitty had 15 including 3-6 from beyond the arc. Sophomore guard Didi Mukendi (12 points)was also instrumental in the late rally with a steal and 6 points including the bucket that tied the game at 67. 6'8" Brian Nahimana had another strong game inside for Brock with 15 points and 6 rebounds. 6'7" Boris Bakovic again was the story offensively for Ryerson with 32 points and 12 rebounds while 6'1" Josh Budd added 13 points (3-7 from downtown). Aided by 4 Brock turnovers early in the third quarter, Bakovic and 6'3" Ryan McNeilly (10 points) each had 5 points in a 14-2 Ram run off the start of the second half and it appeared Ryerson would pull away. However Whitty's offense helped bring Brock to within 4 by the end of the third quarter.
