Laval 94, McGill 69
Les Rouge et Or wore down the hosts with constant full court pressure, rotatating through 10 players and used a quick, early third quarter run to break open a two point halftime game to defeat the Redmen in Montreal. McGill led for much of the first half before Laval took the lead late in the second quarter to go into halftime leading 48-46. Laval then had a huge run early in the third and began making shots to stretch their lead and win the QSSF season opener. 5'9" Xavier Baribeau had an excellent game for Laval, making several key shots, especially in the second half and running the show; he finished with 23 points on 5-8 shooting from downtown. 6'3" J.F. Beaulieu-Mahieux led all scorers with 25 points and made all 5 of his three point attempts as Laval shot a scorching 14-24 from 3 point land and 55% (33-60) overall. 6'4" do-everything Michael White (13 points) was McGill's best player on the day however he appeared to wear down amid Laval's constant solid pressure.
