Ryerson 79, Guelph 74
6'7" Boris Bakovic knocked down a pair of free throws to break a 72-72 tie with under a minute remaining and on the subsequent possession the Rams forced an 8 second violation with some pressure as Ryerson came up with a big road win at Guelph. 6'4" Jay Mott went off for 31 points for Guelph including 21 in the first half as the Gryphons mounted a 10 point lead by the intermission. But Rams 6'1" Sheridan College transfer Riccardo Dunkley came off the bench in the third quarter to energize Ryerson with his defense and changed the tempo of the game, scoring a Rams career-high 13 points and adding 5 assists with great ball pressure defensively. Ryerson also got another consistent effort from 6'10" fifth-year center Joey Imbrogno who was a presence defensively with 3 blocks and scored 13 points in 31 minutes. Bakovic had another stellar offensive effort for Ryerson with 27 points and 12 rebounds. After a tremendous first half, Mott had just 10 points after the break and the Gryphs stumbled in the final minute. 6'2" Dan McCarthy had 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals in 31 minutes before fouling out.
