Lethbridge 87, #8 Simon Fraser 73 OVERTIME

In what could turn out to be a season-defining win for the Horns, 6'2" Jeff Price had 25 points including 12 of his team's 22 points in overtime as Lethbridge handed SFU their first loss of the Canada West regular season in front of an announced crowd of 150 fans. The Pronghorns scored the first 10 points of the extra session which included a clutch 3 from 6'4" Randy Davis (16 points, 3-4 3's) and cruised to the win from there. Price went 15-16 from the free throw for the game and Lethbridge outrebounded the host Clan 50-38, winning despite shooting only 27% from downtown. SFU played without starting 6'4" guard Matt Kuzminski.

After a strong second quarter put the Clan up by 5 at the break, the Pronghorns had a big third quarter and extended their lead to as much as eight points early in the fourth. But back-to-back three-pointers from 6'6" Chas Kok (team-high 16 points coming off an ankle injury) and 5'11" reserve guard Kevin Pribilsky (11 points) followed by a lay-in from 6'7" Eric Burrell quickly tied the game. Later, Kok and Pribilsky again dropped consecutive threes and SFU took a 61-57 lead with 3:48 to go, completing an 18-8 quarter-long run. The Horns then finished regulation on an 8-4 run to tie it and took off in the OT.

Clan's pair of fifth-year guards 6'4" Kevin Shaw and 6'4" Sean Burke, who had been on a tear shooting the three ball for much of the early season, combined to go just 4 for 18 from downtown and the Clan turned the ball over 26 times while allowing Lethbridge to grab 15 offensive rebounds. 6'2" Danhue Lawrence added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Lethbridge as Lawrence and 6'6" Robin Cooper combined for 7 "o" boards.
