Ottawa 74, Waterloo 66

6'3" freshman Kameish Edwards scored the Gee-Gees final 9 points of the game as uOttawa came back from a late 6 point deficit to knock off Waterloo Warriors in Ottawa. Edwards, who played only 6 minutes all evening, knocked down a big, late three and went 6-6 from the free throw line to erase a Warrior lead built on a 21-10 third quarter run. Down 53-47, the Gee-Gees inserted Edwards off the bench for his first action of the night and immediately made his presence felt. After trailing 39-33 at halftime, the Warriors came out of the locker room at halftime in a 1/3/1 matchup zone which confused the Gee-Gees and 6'3" Cam McIntyre (21 points to lead all scorers) went to work and it appeared Waterloo would pull off a huge road win. However 6'8" Matt Riendeau, starting in place of the injured Louis Gauthier, was dominant inside with 20 points and 15 rebounds including 7 on the offensive glass, leading to numerous putbacks. 6'4" Josh Gibson-Bascombe had 17 points and 8 rebounds while 6'3" Donnie Gibson had all 10 of his points in the first half as Ottawa survived at home.
