Coach Roy Rana made a very successful OUA regular season debut as the hometown Rams got 28 points from Josh Budd (including 5-10 3's) and 20 from Boris Bakovic including a gap-widening 3 from beyond the NBA 3 with the shot clock winding down and about 3 minutes remaining to give Ryerson a win over the Warriors. Ryerson led comfortably by 10 early in the fourth quarter before a string of turnovers and some big Waterloo shots got the game back to within 2 but Bakovic knocked down his long 3 and the Rams were able to hold on. Jesse Tipping went 4 for 7 from downtown for 14 points for Waterloo while leading scorer Cam McIntyre was held reasonably in check with 13 points.
