Dinos handle Bears; take charge in CW Central Division

Calgary (10-2) 98, Alberta (8-4) 87 The Dinos shook off a terrible start, scoring only 3 field goals in the first quarter in which they fell behind 31-15, to reel off 83 points in the final three quarters to come back to defeat the Bears and put themselves in the driver's seat for winning the Central division regular season crown by defeating the Bears in Edmonton. With the win, Calgary takes the season series 3 games to 1 and the Bears will have to make up 4 games on the Dinos without any head-to-head matchups to finish first. Jeff Price was outstanding for Calgary with 24 points on 9-11 shooting including a perfect 3 for 3 from downtown while the Dinos fought off the rough start by getting back to their physical style. Calgary was 12 for 20 from beyond the arc and also got 20 points from Robbie Sihota and won despite getting only 6 points and 4 rebounds from Ross Bekkering, who was held in check by Bears 6'10" Richard Bates, who led Alberta with 23 points.

IN other Canada West games completed thus far, Regina knocked off Fraser Valley 86-75 as Paul Schubach went 6 for 8 from downtown to finish with 28 points... 5'9" Erfan Nasajpour had 27 points and helped break a third-quarter tie as Winnipeg swept the home-and-home series with Manitoba by beating the Bisons 80-73.
