#10 Alberta (17-6, 12-5) 79, Saskatchewan (15-10, 9-8) 75 The Bears all but clinched second place and home court advantage for the first round of the Central Division playoffs by holding off the Huskies at home behind 22 points and 8 boards from 6'2" Alex Steele. 6'0" Harvey Bradford had 14 points, 10 rebounds while 6'9" Richard Bates added 12 points, 4 rebounds for the Bears, who lead the Huskies by 3 games with just 5 regular season games remaining. 6'7" Andrew Spagrud played all 40 minutes and had 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for Saskatchewan but went only 6 for 12 from the free throw line. The teams meet again tomorrow night in Saskatoon.
Regina (11-9, 9-8) 79, Winnipeg (11-12, 8-9) 67 The Cougars grabbed sole possession of second place in the Great Plains division with a comfortable win over the hometown Wesmen at the Duckworth Center as five players scored in double figures. Regina shot 52% while holding the Wesmen to only 37% shooting including a 5-16 effort from 5'9" Erfan Nasajpour who had only 12 points, well below his average. Nasajpour went only 2 of 8 from downtown and had 5 turnovers but did have 6 assists. The teams meet again tomorrow night at the Duckworth Center.
#3 Brandon (20-6, 15-2) 87, Manitoba (7-17, 4-13) 64 6'5" Adam Hartman had 22 points and 8 rebounds while 6'9" Yuri Whyms had a 15 point/13 rebound double/double to lead the Bobcats to an official division-clinching victory at home over the Bisons. Brandon leads second place Regina by 6 games with only 5 games remaining and the Bobcats will host the Great Plains division final. 6'1" Yul Michel had 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists as the Bobcats outrebounded Manitoba 45-31 including 15 "o" boards and held the Bisons to only 4-23 from downtown. 6'1" Isaac Ansah finished with 16 to lead Manitoba.
