Saturday's CIS Action

OUA WEST
(All games listed as Eastern time)
2:00 pm Waterloo (4-7) at Western (4-6) The Mustangs could fall into the OUA West cellar with a loss in this game while Waterloo wants to avoid dropping out of the playoff race. This is the first of two meetings on the season between these two teams.

3:00 pm Windsor (6-4) at McMaster (5-5) This game is set directly in the middle of probably Hamilton's most active basketball weekend with the historic Silver Fox high school tournament and welcomes back former Mac Assistant Chris Oliver back to his alma mater. The Marauders had an important win at Guelph on Wednesday while the Lancers want to dispell the notion that they have their troubles on the road (only 1-3 in league play thus far away from home). Listen to the game on Mac Radio via the Internet and follow along with Live Stats

3:00 pm Brock (6-4) at Guelph (7-3) First place is at stake as the Badgers play their third consecutive game away from home kicking off the second half of the season. The Gryphs come off a disappointing loss at home to Mac on Wednesday. Both teams have important players on the limp as 6'2" Rohan Steen and 6'3" Jonathan Moscatelli nurse injuries although Steen may play today.

8:00 pm Lakehead (6-5) at Laurier (4-6) The Golden Hawks need a win at home to keep afloat in the West while a Lakehead victory allows them to set their sights on a possible home playoff game or two. The T-Wolves came back last night to defeat the Hawks as 6'4" Kiraan Posey went off for 38 points and 10 rebounds.

AUS
(All games listed as Atlantic time)
3:00 pm Cape Breton (8-1) at StFX (6-2) Two of Atlantic Canada's top teams meet in Antigonish this afternoon. The teams have split a pair of league games, each winning on the other team's home court in November in a back-to-backer. X welcomes back from suspension 6'5" Terrence Taylor and 6'7" Alberto Rodriquez but expect the game to be won inside in the battle between 6'8" freshman Islam Luiz de Toledo and 6'5" fifth-year senior Eric Breland. Both teams love to run so guard play will also be key with CBU's freshman 5'10" Tremaine Fraser having to deal with 6'2" Tyler Richards and 5'10" Christian Upshaw. Expect an exciting game that can be viewed via the Internet on the Streaming Sports Network

3:00 pm Saint Mary's (5-3) at Dalhousie (4-4) The Tigers will be without 6'1" Simon Farine again for this important inter-city matchup at Dalplex. The Tigers need a victory to keep themselves in position for a top four finish. Follow the game on Dal Internet radio

8:00 pm Memorial (0-8) at UPEI (3-5) PEI hopes to cement a spot at the AUS tournament with a win over the winless Seahawks.

8:00 pm Acadia (7-1) at UNB (0-9) Winless UNB hopes to get on track at home against the Axemen.

Quebec
4:00 pm ET Laval (4-2) at Concordia (4-2) The winner of this afternoon's match moves into sole possession of first place after last night's stunning McGill loss to UQAM. In their only other meeting this season, Les Rouge et Or claimed a six point win against the Stingers in Ste-Foy before Christmas.

OUA EAST
8:00 pm Carleton (11-0) at Ryerson (4-7) The Ravens look to remain undefeated after last night's foul-filled victory at U of T.

8:00 pm Ottawa (10-1) at Toronto (8-3) The Blues need to bounce back strong after last night's disappointing "fiasco" as at least a couple of close observers described Toronto's whistle-filled match against Ravens. The Gee-Gees can take a three-game lead in the battle for second with a victory tonight.

8:00 pm RMC (0-11) at York (1-10)

8:00 pm Queen's (7-4) at Laurentian (2-9) The Vees shook off a sluggish start last night to defeat RMC while Queen's grabbed a 25 point first half lead to slam York. The Gaels look to solidify their hold on fourth place and a home playoff game with a win. LIVE STATS
