QSSF: Laval moves further ahead with win; Stingers loss

Laval (15-8, 9-2) 80, McGill (11-11, 5-6) 69 Despite sitting out almost the entire second quarter in foul trouble, 6'7" J.P. Morin had another dominating performance with 34 points and 15 rebounds as Le Rouge et Or won their ninth conference game in a row and moved two games clear of Concordia atop the standings. 6'4" Jerome Turcotte added 17 for Laval while 6'7" Marc-Andre Cote grabbed 18 rebounds including 9 on the offensive glass, several in the key second quarter when Laval was able to take a 5 point lead into halftime despite playing without their star forward Morin. 6'4" Matthew Thornhill had 24 points on 4-8 shooting from downtown for McGill.

UQAM (5-9, 4-6) 96, Concordia (11-6, 5-4) 75 The surging Citadins joined the race for second place and a home playoff game with a comfortable win over the Stingers at UQAM. Once again, UQAM's veteran trio were instrumental in the victory as 6'4" Kevin Boucher had 23 points/13 rebounds and 5 assists including 3-6 3's, 6'4" Mario Joseph had 17 while 6'2" Sam Johnson added 15. 6'1" Damian Buckley again was a one-man band for Concordia, scoring 25 points and adding 7 rebounds before fouling out.
