Capital Hoops Classic less than 10 days away
With both Ottawa teams firmly in the CIS Top 10 once again, the nation's capital is again excited to host the 2nd Annual Capital Hoops Classic at Scotiabank Place next Saturday, January 26th with the men's game going at 8 PM. As many know, last season's game attracted 9,720 fans, the largest crowd ever for a CIS regular season game with the Gee-Gees handing the Ravens a rare loss on a last second jumper by 6'4" Josh Gibson-Bascombe. Carleton, the five-time defending CIS champions, remains undefeated this season while the Gee-Gees have stood up well in the face of losing 4 regulars including 3 starters from last season's CIS semi-final team. Tickets have been selling briskly for this event with over 6,000 sold thus far plus all luxury suites sold. The Ottawa market is generally a last minute type so a crowd of 10,000 or more is a distinct possibility. This is a tremendous event for groups and Dan Nielson of Scotiabank Place is the person to contact for Group sales (613) 599-0283.
