Clan looks to join battle for first with win tonight

7 PM PT/ 10 PM ET UBC (10-2) at Simon Fraser (7-5) The first Tuesday night game of the CIS season goes this evening in Burnaby, BC as the Simon Fraser Clan (7-5) entertain Pacific Division-leading UBC Thunderbirds (10-2). With a victory, the Clan can move into what could be a three-team race for the division pennant. As importantly, Simon Fraser can stay within one game in the loss column of the second-place Victoria Vikes. The first and second place teams in the Pacific Division will host Best-of-3 division semi-final playoff series. UBC hammered the Clan 92-55 in an early regular season game on October 27th, part of a Clan four-game losing skid to start the regular season. Since then, Simon Fraser has peeled off a streak of 7 wins in 8 games, including a 12 point home win against Calgary to kick the streak off in November. UBC has won 7 of their last 8 games and their only two conferences losses are to UVic at home and Calgary on the road. Preview from Simon Fraser web site UBC/Simon Fraser Round Two game will also be covered by Clan Radio with Scott McLean and Howard Tsumura. The game can also be heard by following UBC radio coverage Finally, here again is a link to Howard Tsumura's SFU/UBC Game Preview that appeared in yesterday's Vancouver Province.
