"Q": Laval keeps winning; Stingers handle McGill

#10 Laval (16-8, 10-2) 69, Bishop's (6-12, 2-8) After falling behind early, Le Rouge et Or had a solid second quarter and then pulled away with a 10-0 run starting the second half en route to leads as large as 30 in winning in Lennoxville. Laval flashed their tough quarter court "d" (3rd in CIS in fg% defense), holding Bishop's to just 27.6% from the floor and getting their transition game going. 6'3" J.F. Beaulieu-Mahieux hit 4 of 8 threes for a game-high 20 points while 6'4" post F.O. Gagnon-Hebert again had a workmanlike effort of 17 points, 4 rebounds. Bishop's star guard Junior Nicolas (12 points, 4-12 shooting) was held in check, primarily by Laval's 6'4" Jerome Turcotte. The win was the 10th in a row in league play for Laval while the Gaiter suffered their 8th straight loss.

Concordia (12-6, 6-4) 99, McGill (11-12, 5-7) 84 The Stingers improved their hold on second place in the QSSF with a comfortable home win against reeling McGill, building up an 11 point halftime lead as 6'2" Andre Johnny came alive with a 4 for 7 effort from downtown to finish with 22 points. As usual, 6'1" Damian Buckley was instrumental in the win, finishing with a game-high 24 points, while adding 8 assists and 4 rebounds while 6'8" Jamal Gallier was effective inside with 11 points and 9 boards. 6'3" Moustafa El-Zanaty led McGill with 23 points.
