Guelph (12-9) 78, Lakehead (8-14) 76 6'4" Jay Mott's three pointer with under a minutes to play broke a 74-74 tie and pushed the Gryphs into a home playoff game and eliminated the Thunderwolves from the playoffs. Mott, playing with a broken bone in his right (shooting) hand, went 7 for 15 from downtown including probably the most important shot in his career in front of a emotional, jam-packed house at the Thunderdome. After Mott's three, the T-Wolves came back to within one on a put back by 6'4" Kiraan Posey (28 points, 7 rebounds) and then Lakehead held to gain the final possession. With just seconds remaining, Posey drove the lane and collided with 6'3" Nick Pankerichan in what appeared to be a very difficult charge/block call but no call was made and 6'4" Jonathan Moscatelli (15 points, 6 rebounds) retrieved the loose ball and went 1 for 2 from the line with under a second remaining for the final margin. Guelph has a chance to finish third if they can pull out a win on Wednesday at Western while Lakehead misses the playoffs despite making a stellar 7 game improvement over last season's 1-21 effort.
