CIS Basketball gets some run in two of Canada's Largest Newspapers

It is rare when the Toronto Star, one of the country's largest publications situated in Canada's largest metropolitan city, commits time and effort to a story on CIS sports. Thanks in large part to the tremendous season that the U of T Varsity Blues are having and the solid program coach Mike Katz and staff have built, as the Star's David Grossman reports U of T is no longer singing the Blues

Allan Maki of the Globe and Mail takes a comprehensive look at the diverse collection of talent assembled by Lakehead Thunderwolves Head Coach Scott Morrison in Thunder Bay A Great Group of Dudes

In my opinion, one of the main keys in elevating CIS profile and status is penetration into the largest media markets in the country including Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Historically, Vancouver media has done a solid job covering CIS sports however the same cannot be said for the other two centers. Strategically, the growth of CIS sports must be linked to initiatives that increase profile in the largest Canadian media centers.
