6'0" fifth-year senior Monty Hardware began a personal 7-0 run with a late three, breaking a 75-75 tie with about 2 minutes remaining in the game to lead the Lancers to an exciting, emotional win over the visiting Rams. After 6'3" fifth-year wing Ryan McNeilly tied the game with a long jumper, Hardware, the former Eastern Commerce H.S. star who was coached in high school by Ryerson coach Roy Rana, drained a 3 from the left wing and then finished in transition off a Ryerson miss, giving Windsor a 7 point lead and they would not be headed thereafter.
The Rams trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half before exploding in the third quarter to bring the game back. Both teams deployed a series of changing defenses with half court presses, zones and man-to-man and offensively let their athletes play with an up tempo game that was extremely enjoyable.
Hardware had 21 points including 4 3's to lead Windsor while 6'2" Ola Adgeboruwa had 22 points and 9 rebounds for the Rams including several hard takes to the rim into traffic. Enrico DeLoretto added 18 while Liam Philip had 15 points/12 rebounds.
