New Coaches Poll

It appears that many coaches voted prior to Saskatchewan's surprise Sunday loss (or turned off the webcast at halftime) because the Huskies are ranked 5th despite a mediocre 3-3 record and 2 losses at home in the past two weekends against unranked teams.  As I mentioned, wins at Alberta and at UBC should count for something however #5 is too high in my opinion.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

(regular season record) / votes (first-place votes) / (previous rankings)
1. Carleton (2-0) / 504 pts (42) / (1)
2. StFX (1-0) / 460 / (3)
3. UBC (4-2) / 408 / (2)
4. Concordia (0-0) / 368 / (5)
5. Saskatchewan (3-3) / 335 / (4)
6. Laval (0-0) / 272 / (7)
7. Western Ontario (1-1) / 246 / (6)
8. Trinity Western (4-2) / 219 / (8)
9. Windsor (2-0) / 169 / (NR)
10. Ottawa (1-1) / 77 / (9)

Other teams receiving votes: Toronto (54), Dalhousie (49), Alberta (30), Regina (30).

Not surprisingly, Carleton got all 42 votes. There was no logical other choice for top spot.
Last week Carleton got 31 votes and UBC 10, but one vote was unaccounted for.
Did one coach simply chose not to vote?

How is Western ahead of Windsor when Windsor hammered the same 2 teams that Western played and Western came out only 1-1?
