6'7" Jordan Baker scored 13 of his game-high 21 points in the final 6 minutes of play, propelling a game-deciding 18-3 Golden Bears run as Alberta swept a pair of weekend games in Brandon. With the Bears clinging to a 71-70 lead after a three from Brandon's O'Brien Wallace culminated a Bobcats 13-2 run in the first four minutes of the fourth, Baker went to work, knocking down a jumper and later back-to-back threes before culminating his incredible run with a conventional three point play in the final minute.
It was a game of runs as Alberta built an 11 point second quarter lead before the 'Cats grabbed a 12-2 run to tie the game just before halftime as 6'8" James Elias and Wallace hit 3's. Alberta took off on a 10-1 run midway through the third that included a pair of 3's by 6'4" Daniel Ferguson and it appeared that the route was on. However, Wallace and 6'7" Kyrie Coleman (14 points, 7 rebounds) drove Brandon's run to bring the game back, setting up Baker's late game dramatics.
Baker added 10 rebounds and 6 assists in another all-round, all-conference like effort while Ferguson finished with 20 points including 4-6 3's. 6'5" Todd Bergen-Henengouwen added 13 for Alberta. Wallace and Elias each had 13 for Brandon with Elias going an impressive 5 for 6 in probably his CW career-high effort.
