The T-Birds came back from a 12 point deficit after three quarters with a big, early fourth quarter run and then held off a Golden Bears comeback attempt late to win by 5. 6'2" Josh Whyte picked things up in the fourth quarter, attacking the rim, getting to the free throw line and making shots. UBC was able to tighten up defensively, forcing tough shots to start several one and dones. The young Bears played very well for the first 30 minutes but could not match UBC's intensity and momentum when it mattered.
6'4" Daniel Ferguson had a game-high 29 points for Alberta, going 6 for 12 from downtown, part of a 10-17 effort from the field while 6'8" sophomore Jordan Baker added 16 points and 6'1" C.G. Morrison added 10.
