McGill 82, Bishop's 65; Stingers come back to win at UQAM

The Redmen used a dominant defensive effort in the second half to pull away and win their QUBL home opener over the Gaiters.  Bishop's led for much of the first half as they attacked the offensive glass, continually getting second chances to lead by as many as 4.  However, 6'3" freshman Simon Bibeau hit a long three followed by a buzzer-beater to give McGill a 4 point halftime lead at 34-30.

Redmen dominated the second half with a very strong effort defending the ball and cleaning up the defensive glass while offensively McGill was able to get the ball inside and run their offense much more crispness.  McGill led by over 20 early in the fourth quarter after taking the game over in the third.

After a slow start in the first quarter, Bibeau had 18 to lead McGill while point guard Olivier Bouchard added 15.  6'1" Onnex Blackwood had 18 to lead Bishop's but scored only 4 points after halftime.

Concordia 79, UQAM 67  The Stingers trailed for the entire first half as UQAM attacked the offensive glass but were able to gut out a very important road win with a strong second half effort.
