5'9" Xavier Baribeau shot a blistering 8 of 11 from three point land, finishing with a game-high 26 points as Laval shot 61% in the second half including 9-17 from 3 to defeat the Stingers in Quebec City. Rouge et Or led by 12 entering the fourth quarter after the score was tied at halftime. 6'4" Jerome Turcotte added 21 points and 9 rebounds for Laval which lost 6'6" Etienne Labrecque early in the game (5 minutes in) but got an encouraging effort from 6'5" freshman Hugues Ryan who had 13 points and 5 assists off the bench. 6'2" Kyle Desmarais had 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the Stingers while Decee Krah adde 18 and James Clark 17 but had 7 turnovers. Stingers starting forward combo of Kafil Eyitayo (9 minutes played) and Evens Laroche (19 minutes played) struggled with fouls all night. Concordia stayed in the game by going 12-25 from downtown but turned it over 19 times and did not get much of an inside game, getting to the line only 10 times.
Laval jumped out to an early 20-9 lead as Turcotte had 10 of his 21 in the run. But the Stingers clawed back with a 16-5 run to take their largest lead of the game at 4 late in the second quarter. Laval began banging the offensive glass and were able to tie the score by halftime and then behind Baribeau finished the third quarter on a 25-13 run after Decee Krah's 3's had tied the game at 44. Laval built leads as large as 14 in the fourth quarter and led by 12 after Baribeau final 3 of the game with 1:23 remaining. Concordia then hit 3 consecutive desperation 3's to bring the game closer in the final minute.
