Marauders hammer UQAM
It will be a battle of two undefeated teams for the championship of McGill's Redbird Classic as McMaster (2-0 in the tournament, 4-0 overall vs. CIS) quickly swelled a 14 point lead to 26 with a huge run to end the first half and later led by as many as 40 in defeating UQAM 94-59. Mac will face Ottawa Gee-Gees (3-0 overall) at noon ET after Ottawa defeated the host Redmen 102-80. 6'6" Keenan Jeppesen had 18 points (all in the first half) to lead Mac while 5'11" Jermaine DeCosta added 15 points with 6 steals, 5 of which led directly to easy Mac transition scores. The Marauders "played very well defensively and rebounded" according to Coach Joe Raso, holding UQAM to 35% shooting and creating 23 turnovers. 6'7" Ryan Christie added 16 for McMaster while 6'5" Cam Michaud had 12. During the game deciding run late in the second quarter, the Marauders kept the active Citadins off the offensive glass and converted multiple fast break points. After the lead jumped to 40 in the second half, Raso was able to empty his bench early providing some rest for his rotation which must bounce back quickly to face a tough Gee-Gees squad tomorrow.

This might the weakest year for the Q ever.Ottawa routs McGill by 22 and McMaster hammers UQAM.
Bishop's is getting the stuffing knocked out of them at the House-Laughton and will return to Ottawa next weekend to have even more punishment inflicted on them at Ottawa's Donahue tournament.
Laval is the best of the bunch but even they have looked bad at times.
Concordia got stuffed by an OCAA team St. Lawrence and only beat hapless RMC by 9.
By the end of October, the QSSF's cumulative non-conference record could look pretty ugly.
Laval might get a top 10 ranking, but no better than 9th...then again they might not.
As a group, the Q has been very unimpressive so far.
