UNB 100, RMC 59
UNB took a five point lead at 24-19 after the first quarter against a valiant Paladins team down to 7 available players due to injuries. The V-Reds applied man pressure and wore down RMC, taking a 50-26 lead into halftime before coasting for the win. RMC played zone most of the night and struggled to score after the the first quarter. The injury-riddled Paladins could got more bad news, unfortunately losing another player, 5'10" shooting guard Gavin Viray-Cox to an ankle injury at the end of third quarter. Viray-Cox had to be taken to hospital for X-rays on his ankle and is out for the remainder of this weekend at a minimum and possibly as long as Christmas. The Paladins will face the athletic UQAM Citadins tonight with only 6 players, 4 of whom are playing hurt. 6'3" freshman Jon Wilson is working to be ready for RMC's league opener against McMaster, 6'6" Matt Wookey is out with a shoulder injury while James Byun is day to day with hand and Liam Wright may be gone for the season. As Paladins coach Scott James described "I have never seen so many injuries on one team in my 25 years of coaching."
