Dalhousie 71, Laval 67

6'1" Simon Farine had 26 points while playing all 40 minutes, the Tigers grabbed 18 offensive rebounds and 6'5" William Yengue hit his only shot of the game, a big three pointer late in the game to give his team the lead for good as Dal edged the host Rouge et Or. Farine shook off a tough night from downtown (1-6) with 18 first-half points, made several plays down the stretch and defend the ball very well in gutting out a fine performance. His counterpart at the point for Laval, 5'9" Xavier Baribeau was also very good knocking down 4-8 3's including a pair of big 3's in the fourth quarter, finishing with 14 points and running the show very well. 6'3" J.F. Beaulieu-Mahieux led Laval with 18 points, 7 rebounds while gritty, maximum-effort 6'5" F.O. Gagnon-Hebert had a tidy 11 point/7 rebound performance with some blocks thrown in. 6'4" Jerome Turcotte battled foul trouble all night, finishing with 0 points before drawing his fifth foul, one of 29 overall against Laval against only 12 for Dal, which shot 38 free throws. 6'3" Marcus Wong (10 points, 9 rebounds) went only 3-13 from the floor, but one was a big put back late in the game for the Tigers. 6'9" Joe Schow added 11 points/8 rebounds for Dal in advance of meeting his ex-teammates Calgary Dinos tomorrow at 4 PM.
