Laval 92, Thompson Rivers 80

Les Rouge et Or salvaged one game from their tough west coast swing by breaking out to a 23 point lead in the third quarter and holding on as the Wolf Pack narrowed the gap to 4 points with about 6 minutes remaining on the strength of some 3's and putbacks but could get no closer. 5'10" Xavier Baribeau shot 7 for 10 from the three point line and led all scorers with 23 points while 6'4" Jerome Turcotte added 16 for Laval. 6'5" Etienne Labrecque and 6'2" Christian Trottier each added 13. Sean Garvey led TRU with 20 points while Drew Bleth added 14 and Joel Friesen 13. Laval returns home after playing their first 7 games either on the road or at neutral sites to host their annual tournament with three very good teams visiting, each of which participated in the Nationals last season: Calgary Dinos (0-0) and Western Mustangs (1-0) (both CIS National semi-finalists last season) and Dalhousie Tigers (3-0), defending AUS champions.

Laval 27 22 17 26 - 92
TRU 21 16 21 22 - 80
