Concordia 55, York 47
In what was optimistically described as a "defensive struggle" the host Stingers outlasted York Lions in Montreal. With the score tied 21-21 at halftime, 6'1" Pierre Thompson who led all scorers with 16 points, helped the Stingers build a 15 point second half lead as he had four 3's in the game. 6'4" Evens Laroche added 12 points for Concordia and Thompson did a fine job on York's star guard David Tyndale, holding him to 6 points. The Lions did not hit a three-point shot on the evening but got very good efforts from their pair of 6'10" posts as freshman Dejan Kravic scored York's first 6 points of the game and Stefan Haynes, who is much stronger and assertive this season, also was a factor. Concordia's 6'1" Decee Krah tweeked his knee which had sidelined him for a couple of weeks earlier this month and did not play for much of the second half for precautionary reasons.
