Both Campbells win at Laurier

John Campbell's Dal Tigers won their second in a row on their trip through Southern Ontario, taking leads as large as 20 before defeating Brock Badgers 79-68 behind 21 points from 6'3" wing Marcus Wong, who keyed a big Tigers run in the first quarter after the Badgers had stormed out to a 9-2 lead off the opening tip. Dal, which got 15 points and 14 rebounds from 6'9" fifth-year center Joe Schow, went into halftime up by 16 and coasted from there. 6'4" freshman Clinton Springer-Williams showed his tremendous open court talents with 15 points including 8-9 from the free throw line. 6'1" Simon Farine struggled with fouls in the first half and finished with 14 points in 21 minutes for Dal. Brock's sophomore point guard Joel Whitty injured his shoulder late in the game and his status for the rest of the weekend is unknown. Hawks win over Wesmen

The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks opened the Hawk Classic with a 85-74 win over the visiting University of Winnipeg Wesmen.

In the previous game, the Dalhousie Tigers defeated the Brock Badgers 79-68.

The home team wasted no time in getting out to an early lead by getting the ball into the hands of their top scorer Kale Harrison (Stratford, Ont).
