Toronto 100, Regina 79

Coming back from an early 14 point deficit, the Blues took the lead for good with an 11-0 run late in the second quarter and then pulled away in the second half with a 34 point third quarter in routing the Cougars before a capacity crowd in Estevan, Saskatchewan at a high school with gate proceeds going to charity.

The Blues were led by a pair of newcomers as 6'4" Alex Hill had 18 points and impressive freshman 6'1" Matt Savel from Hamilton, who has missed much of the pre-season with an ankle injury and has been back for just over a week, added 17 points.  Fourth-year post Drazen Glizic added 16 points and 16 assists as Toronto was able to break Regina's full court pressure and get the Cougars into foul trouble for the victory.

First-year post Matt Campbell had a team-high 14 points for the Cougars in just 19 minutes on the floor, while Jeff Lukomski and Paul Gareau both chipped in with 12.

The teams meet again tonight back in Regina on the Cougars regular home court.
