It was an absolute mauling by the Saskatchewan Huskies over their Canada West rivals, the Calgary Dinos in the final game of the Huskies Shootout on Saturday night. With a 23-10 start in quarter #1, the U of S never looked back, as they out-scored the over-matched Calgary squad in every quarter, including a 20-5 drubbing in the 4th.
Calgary could not slow down a determined Saskatchewan offense, which was led by their new import guard Jamelle Barrett (3rd year), who notched 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. David Neufeld added 17 and Nolan Brudehl 11 for the 3-0 Huskies. Calgary got 10 points from Tyler Fidler, and 8 apiece from Keenan Milburn and Andrew McGuinness.
Saskatchewan outshot Calgary 50% to 33% from the floor, and won the rebounding 36-28. The Dinos turned it over 26 times to 17 for the Huskies, and U of S were 15/19 from the line for 79% to 13/22 for 59% for UC.
