Naismith Classic at Waterloo: Laval & Memorial get wins

Laval 84, Ryerson 78  6'5" Etienne Labrecque led a balanced attack with 20 points and 7 rebounds as Laval had 7 players finish with at least 7 points as Rouge et Or held off the Rams, who made a late push after being down 19 early in the fourth quarter.  6'3" J.F. Beaulieu-Mahieux added 16 for Laval (3-0) while backup guard J.P. Renaud added 13.  6'2" Ola Adgeboruwa had a game-high 24 points and added 5 boards for the Rams, who played without freshman 6'7" starting center Bjorn Michaelsen, who was writing an exam.  Ryerson's late push was helped by a 6 for 9 effort from downtown in the second half led by Adgeboruwa, who Laval Head Coach Jacques Paiement described as "really good".  Laval meets Waterloo tomorrow night while Ryerson gets Alberta Golden Bears.

Memorial 75, Waterloo 70  After being hammered in London last night by a Mustangs team without starters Andrew Wedemire and Garrett Olexiuk, the Sea-hawks bounce back to defeat Waterloo.  More details to follow.
