The Rams jumped out to a 15-5 lead off the opening tip and never looked back, hammering the Sea-hawks who had played so well last night against Waterloo to even their record at the Naismith at 1-1. For the second consecutive night, 6'2" Ola Adegboruwa stuffed the score sheet with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Ryerson while 6'0" freshman point guard Jahmal Jones added 14 points on 6-7 shooting. Ryerson also welcomed back 6'7" Bjorn Michaelsen, their freshman out of Quebec, who was impactful against the comparatively smaller Sea-hawk front line.
Playing with plenty of energy and emotion from the very start, the Rams athletic guards dominated defensively on and off the ball, locking up the Sea-hawks pair of scorers 5'8" Will Bradbury and 6'0" Mark Woodland who had led MUN to their upset win over host Waterloo last night. Bradbury and Woodland, who combined for 38 points against the Warriors, had only 6 between them tonight. In all, the Seahawks made just one three on the evening and only got to the free throw line 7 times after shooting 33 free throws against the Warriors on Friday night.
The Rams meet Waterloo tomorrow afternoon at 4 PM as the tournament concludes.
