Other Scores tonight

Western 85, Algoma 55  Playing without three starters (6'6" Garrett Olexiuk, 6'5" Andrew Wedemire and 6'8" Adam Jespersen) the 'Stangs got balanced scoring in defeating Algoma at home.  Using small line-ups, the Mustangs defended well and got offense from 6'5" freshman Peter Scholtes, who led the way with 21 pts, 7rbs, while 6'1" veteran point guard Ryan Barbeau added 15pts, 6 assists and Dillon Hamilton added 10pts.  Fifth-year guard Brett Lawrence saw plenty of action as well, adding 17pts.

York 77, UPEI 70   The Lions staged a big comeback in the fourth quarter led by 22 points from 6'3" sophomore Ostap Chioly.  6'2" Jon Cooper led the Panthers with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists.  UPEI Blog game reportBox Score

Saint Mary's 104, Lakehead 94  In a shootout, a pair of athletic teams which love to get out and run did so tonight in Halifax and the Huskies, led by 6'5" Howard CC transfer Torey Fassett came out on top.  No stats were printed off but 6'6" Yoosrie Salhi had his best game of the young season with about 25 points and 10 boards while 6'1" Greg Carter had what was described as his best game of the trip.  6'8" Simon Marr chipped in to the Huskies cause with a pair of 3's  while 6'1" Joey Haywood helped make sure that Saint Mary's home opener was successful.  The Huskies played without probable starter 6'8" Korey Cobb while Lakehead regular 6'5" Ryan Thomson was hobbled by plantar facitis and did not play in the second half.
