6'3" freshman Phil Scrubb scorched the V-Reds with a 5-6 first half shooting effort from downtown, part of a 17 point half and the Ravens cruised from there to move to one win away from captured the Rouge et Or Classic. Scrubb, a smooth wing from B.C., led a relentless Carleton attack that went 7-12 from downtown as a group and held the Reds to only 31% when it mattered.
Carleton took a 22 point halftime lead, overcoming an uncharacteristic 11 turnovers by holding UNB to just 31% shooting and outrebounding the Reds 21-9. Carleton welcomed back 5'11" fifth-year guard Michael Kenny to the lineup who had been nursing an injury that caused him to miss the Ravens first four games of the season.
Tonight's second game in Quebec City pits Saint Mary's against the host Rouge et Or at 8 PM and is available live on the Internet on Rouge et Or TV
