The Badgers won their second straight game of the weekend and third overall as 6'2" Mike Cruickshank had a career high 32 points and 8 rebounds. Brock led much of the way save for nice V-Reds run that gave them a 7 point third quarter lead but the Badgers quickly went on a run of their own to lead by 6 after three and then gapped UNB in fourth, breaking the V-Reds two game win streak.
"Mike was awesome today, he made them pay every time they went under or didn't hedge a ball screen and played great D all game", commented Brock coach Brad Rootes.
Brock got 15 points from 6'6" fourth-year forward Andrew Ferguson and received strong efforts up front from 6'6" Mark Gibson and 6'9" Brian Nahimana who both had big dunks at key moments in the game to help shift momentum. Other Badgers in double figures were 6'1" Andrew Kraus 13 points and 6'3" Cedric Kasongo who had 10pts.
"Today when our shooting went cold we dug in and clamped down on UNB and held them until we got back on track."
The Badgers look to capture the tournament championship tomorrow on the final day with a game against OUA rivals York Lions tomorrow at 11 AM ET/Noon AT. The Lions meet UPEI later tonight.
