Capers Upset in New Brunswick

The final game of the University Hoops Showcase on the Rivers in Miramichi, NB brought about one of the biggest upsets of the young season as Holland College of the ACAA, led by former UPEI Coach George Morrison, defeated Cape Breton 78-75.  Holland came back from being 22 points down in the 3rd quarter to win.  Earlier the Capers had defeated Lee Academy and Crandall to go 2-1 on the weekend.  Cape Breton participates in the Eric Garland UNB tournament next weekend, with the first game being an AUS tournament championship rematch with St. FX X-Men.

Looks good on Charters....
Seriously, how do you blow a 22 point lead to a college team, for crying out loud?
Especially when you are one of the top ranked teams in the country, with ambitions (or should I say, pretensions?)
of contending for the CIS championship.
The Capers were the schoolyard bully in this tourney...all other teams were ACAA (by no means the most powerful conference in the CCAA) and one prep school.
Cape Breton should have romped.
I saw them at nationals last March and I was completely underwhelmed by their performance.
What struck me was the Capers lack of discipline and structure.
They should have taken out Calgary easily but stumbled and bumbled their way to a loss.
Charters might be a great recruiter but as a coach...
