After nearly overcoming a 19-point deficit, the Concordia Stingers men’s basketball team fell 76-73 to the Wilfred Laurier University Golden Hawks Saturday in the Concordia Nike Tournament championship game.
The Stingers outscored the Golden Hawks 19-7 in the third quarter, at times drawing within a point of the Golden Hawks. However, that point proved insurmountable in the fourth quarter; Laurier regrouped and answered the Stingers shot-for-shot to hold off Concordia and win the tournament.

X-Men basketball: season preview from the Xavieran Weekly
After a disappointing end to what was considered quite a successful season, the X-Men are looking forward to taking their game to the next level.
Having won 28 games and ranked in the Canadian top 5, the X-men were defeated by the Dalhousie Tigers in the AUS Championship last season. Earning a Wild Card selection to the CIS National Tournament the blue and white were eliminated in the quarter finals by the Carleton Ravens who took home the national title. Leading the way this year for the X-men will be fourth year Christian Upshaw. Leading the way last year in scoring at 19.9 points per game, Upshaw was selected as the Most Valuable Player in the Atlantic Conference as well as a CIS All-Canadian. Also coming back is point guard Will Silver and Alberto Rodriguez who will be counted on to lead the way up front.
