McGill 85, Laval 83 6'0" Olivier Bouchard took over offensively in the second half and gave the Redmen the lead for good with a clutch 3 with just over 2 minutes remaining as McGill moved to 7-4 and within one game of Rouge et Or (8-3) before loud, packed house at McGill. Laval's 5'8" Xavier Baribeau, who had helped keep Rouge et Or in the game with several big second-half 3's, had a decent look at a long 3 to tie it with about 13 seconds remaining but came up short as the Redmen captured their first win in 4 games against the first-place Rouge et Or. Despite an 8-0 Laval run mid-way through the third quarter led by a pair of 3's by Baribeau that gave Rouge et Or a 5 point lead, McGill got a buzzer-beating 3 from Bouchard to lead by 2 going into the final frame. Laval had 6'3" Jerome Turcotte go to the bench with his 4th foul mid-way through the frame. Laval had initially silenced the standing room-only crowd of over 1,000 early with a 9-0 run off the start of the game, forcing an early McGill time out. Rouge et Or got 26 first-half points from resurgent 6'3" J.F. Beaulieu-Mahieux, going 4 for 5 from downtown and also finishing around the rim. But the Redmen spread the floor and got the ball inside and also got an energized effort from 6'4" freshman Karim Sy-Morrissette who had a pair of slick looks inside for lay-ups and stole the ball for an uncontested score to key a 12-3 run that got the game back. Beaulieu-Mahieux then took over for a stretch with a pair of threes, leading a 7-0 run that gave Laval a 37-28 lead. But McGill turned up the pressure, trapping in the front court and making Rouge et Or play faster than comfortable. 5'11" Olivier Bouchard started half-closing 19-8 McGill run with a 3 and 6'8" Greg Gause, bouncing back from a string of uninspiring efforts, scored inside and then gave the Redmen their first lead by knocking down an open 3. 6'3" Kyle Bernard was effective at the top of the press and getting into the lane and McGill went to halftime up 2 at 47-45. McGill officially clinches a playoff spot with the victory.
Concordia 94, UQAM 87 The Stingers took over in the fourth quarter with a 30-19 run after UQAM led most of the way, getting a nice performance from 6'2" Decee Krah who had a big steal and "and 1" at a key point in the game that resulted in an intentional foul. 6'5" James Clark also had a nice game inside for the Stingers, who won their second consecutive.

Other notable points from the ConU and Uqam game, stingers all star swingman did not suit up for last nights game. Also, Kyle Desmerais put together a solid all around effort with 26 pts, 6 assts, 5 rebs, 5 stls, 1 blk.
