Also, congratulations to one of the all-time CIAU greats, Gerald Kazanowski, who was a key part of those great UVic teams in the late 70's, early 80's.  UVic will be retiring his jersey this weekend as part of the final weekend of Canada West regular season play when the Vikes host arch-rival UBC with a home series in the first round of the playoffs at stake (Vikes need at least one win to clinch).  The 6'7" forward (I'm going on memory here) was also a long-time member of Canada's National team, representing Canada at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.  A very underrated athlete, it was not uncommon to watch Kazanowski deal from the wing or high-post, take his man to the rim and hammer it on him.  He could shoot it from deep and was one of the best all-round players ever in the CIAU/CIS.
