Despite a seven point home loss to Windsor, the Guelph Gryphons came back to do what many felt was virtually impossible in early January - qualify for the OUA West playoffs. In a wild afternoon, Waterloo Warriors came from 6 points down with 30 seconds remaining to win on an buzzer beating shot by Wayne Bridge to stun Mac in Hamilton. Meanwhile, Brock did what they had to do, getting 32 points from 6'6" Mark Gibson but Warriors win propelled Waterloo into the three-way tie, with Guelph taking the tiebreaker on the basis of a 3-1 record in games against Waterloo (2-0) and Brock (1-1). Despite Mac's loss, the Marauders have home court advantage for Wednesday's OUA West playoff game between the Mustangs and McMaster.
