Windsor 77, Laurier 67

6'3" Isaac Kuon was the catalyst in a game-deciding run that bridged the third and fourth quarters, allowing the Lancers to end their four game losing skid in impressive fashion over the visiting Golden Hawks.  The game was tight through the first 25 or so minutes before Kuon asserted himself defensively, in transition and from beyond the three point line.  6'0" Josh Collins had one of his better efforts of the season, knocking down big shots, especially early when the Lancers struggled for flow offensively.  5'11" Monty Hardware also hit a couple of long jumpers during the run that got the crowd involved.  Laurier stayed in the game in the second half primarily via a series of strong and creative finishes by 6'5" Kale Harrison but, outside of 6'5" Matt Buckley and 6'6" Pat Donnelly, got an inconsistent offensive effort with several easy misses around the rim.  Windsor did a sound job taking away Laurier perimeter looks and the Lancers did a credible job keeping the active Golden Hawks off the offensive glass for the most part.  With 6'8" Liam Philip getting whistled for 2 fouls in the first two minutes of play, Coach Chris Oliver went with a bigger lineup, employing both 6'8" Evan Matthews and 7'0" Ryan Wood on the floor together on occasion and this limited Laurier's usual dominance on the glass.  Wood also was a factor inside offensively but Kuon and Collins were the main reasons for Windsor's victory today.
