The Stingers finished their game on a 13-3 run, coming back from a 7 point deficit with about 6 1/2 minutes remaining as 6'2" Kyle Desmarais tied it from downtown with 3:15 to go, one of his 4 3's on the game (game-high 26 points). In all, the Stingers went 8 for 20 from beyond the arc as they appear to be pulling out of their team shooting slump that plagued them through January. 6'2" Decee Krah added 23 points on 3-9 3's for Concordia while 6'6" freshman Alexandre Bernard had 18 for UQAM. Greg St. Amand also had 18 and lefty Frantz St.Cyr had 16 including the only 3 3's the Citadins were able to knock down (3-11 as a team from three-point land). ConU wins 94-87.
McGill finally came away with a win against Laval, their first in four meetings with the Rouge et Or, as 6'0" Olivier Bouchard had 15 of his team-high 21 points after halftime including a three with 3 minutes remaining that gave Redmen the lead for good. Bouchard had 9 of his points in the fourth quarter and added 6 assists, going 5-8 3's, offsetting a rusty effort from Redmen freshmen Simon Bibeau who had only 6 points on 2-15 shooting. 6'3" Kyle Bernard added some athleticism on the McGill press and finished with 12 points while 6'8" Greg Gause added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks although virtually all of his production came in the first half. For Laval, 6'3" J.F. Beaulieu-Mahieux finished with 33 points but only 6 after halftime. Laval faces Bishop's tonight at home. McGill 85, Laval 83.
