AUS Today: Panthers stay in the hunt

UPEI 84, Memorial 80  The Panthers awoke late in the third quarter, coming back from 10+ down in the first half to tie it with about 6 minutes left and went on to sweep the weekend series.  Memorial shot the lights out in the first half but the Panthers picked it up defensively as the game progress, limiting Sea-hawks good looks and 6'6" Manock Lual (27 points on 10-13 shooting plus 10 rebounds) and 6'2" Jon Cooper (23 points) sparked the offense.  With the victory, UPEI moves to 6-10 on the season with 16 points, 4 points ahead of seventh place Acadia.  The Axemen have 7 games remaining while the Panthers have but 4 - all on the road.  The two teams do not meet again this season.  UPEI travels to UNB next weekend for a pair of two point games which are likely to be must wins for the Panthers.

Dalhousie 88, UNB 50 (4 point game)   The Tigers grabbed 8 of a possible 8 points on the weekend and are now 10-5 with 36 points, a full 10 points ahead of second-place St. FX.  With 5 games remaining, Dal must lose all of their remaining games and X must win all of their remaining games for X to maintain their long streak of first round byes at the AUS tournament.  Dal jumped out to a quick 20 point lead early in the second quarter and coasted to an easy win over the weary V-Reds who had an emotional, last-second victory last night in Wolfville.

Saint Mary's and CBU were tied midway through the third quarter this afternoon.

Incredible game between Capers and Huskies. Charters tossed, Carter with 10 three pointers, incredible Capers comeback. Hope to have the archive up right away on www.sportstream.ca.

any idea if Charters will be suspended and/or how long Dorsey will be out?

Another emabarrassing display by the CBU men's team (watch SSN coverage of CBU at X).

Question #1 is: CBU AD John Ryan is an honourable guy but how long before he figures out the end does not justify the means?

Question #2: Is this the game the AUS "administration" decides to sanction this ragtag bunch of renegades? (besides Charters' automatic 1 game suspension)

Just an AUS fan ...

Charters is out of control. He could be and should be tossed way more often. His team reflects his personality, they constantly complain, get technicals, engage with fans in a hostile manner.

Outside the Cape they have to be the most disliked team in the AUS.

And not much will happen to Charters, his AD is the current outside head of the AUS.
