Maybe it's just me but this year's tournament does not seem as deep as previous years. As strong as Carleton has been, there have always been at least 2 or 3 other teams going in that seemed to have a decent shot on paper. This year, I think UBC might be the only one and they are less of a threat than Brandon or Victoria in recent years, IMO.
Some might argue that Acadia is a potential danger in the second round but their loss to St. Mary's does show AUS sports, IMO but rather how few real threats there are this season.
