SSN Canada to broadcast 2008 CIS Final 8!
OTTAWA – The Streaming Sports Network (SSN Canada) is pleased to announce that it has acquired the exclusive live video web streaming rights to the 2008 Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) men's basketball championship (CIS Final 8) beginning this Friday at Scotiabank Place in Kanata, Ontario.
As a result, SSN Canada will provide coverage free of charge to viewers of all games during the three day event via the SSN Canada website at www.SSNCanada.ca. Please note that all games will be broadcast live EXCEPT for Friday's fourth quarterfinal between No. 1 Carleton and No. 8 Alberta that will be seen on tape delay at 10 pm EDT.
"Over the past two years, the Steaming Sports Network has provided University sport fans with live coverage of the Vanier Cup, the CIS women's basketball and ice hockey championships and now we have the CIS Final 8 and we couldn't be more ecstatic," said SSN Canada President, Bengt Neathery. "A week ago we had a remarkable response to our coverage of the CIS women's hockey and basketball championships and this weekend we expect to exceed that response."
The SSN basketball play-by-play crew will be comprised of announcer Mark Masters (Toronto, Ont.) and veteran broadcaster and basketball journalist Wayne Kondro (Ottawa, Ont.) who will provide the commentary for all games, except those involving the Brock University Badgers. SSN Canada's Brock University play-by-play team of Shawn McCart and Larry Miller will provide the commentary for all games involving the OUA bronze medalists.
