Oakland 115, Windsor 94 The Golden Grizzlies authored a game-deciding 38-18 run in the last 9 1/2 minutes of the first half to defeat the Lancers, as both teams shot better than 50% from downtown for the game. With Oakland clinging to a 24-23 lead midway through the first half, the Grizzlies put on a torrid perimeter shooting display and also took advantage of fouls to get to the line 24 times before halftime. In all, the teams combined for 51 fouls (26 against Windsor) and shot a combined 28 for 51 from downtown. Oakland built their largest lead at 87-61 with 11:45 remaining in the game and Windsor got as close as 102-85 with 4:25 remaining on a three by 6'5" Conor Allin. 6'2" Matt Handsor got free to knock down 4 consecutive 3's in the second half to prevent Oakland from really running away from Windsor. Windsor shot 66 percent from 3 in the second half - 10 of 15. Handsor finished with 19 points on 6-8 from downtown for the game. 6'8" Greg Surmacz led the way for the Lancers with 22 points on 10-14 shooting in only 25 minutes while 6'4" Kevin Kloostra added 21 including 4-7 3's. Michigan native Corey Boswell handed out 8 assists against only 1 turnover for Windsor. Windsor Head Coach Chris Oliver substituted freely throughout the game as 11 of the 12 players who dressed saw at least 10 minutes of action and no Lancer played more than 25 minutes. The Lancers played without 6'3" guard Isaac Kuon, who should be ready for Windsor's first pair of OUA interlocking league games this weekend against Laurentian (Friday) and York (Saturday). Rhode Island 106, Concordia 63 The Rams shot 62.7% for the game including 10-21 from downtown, building up leads as large as 49 late in the game to defeat the Stingers. The Rams broke out to a 26-10 lead before 6'3" Dwayne Buckley's 3 ended the run and later grabbed their largest lead of the half at 47-24. Rhode Island completely iced the game late in the second half, going on a 20-4 run against the Stingers bench to grab a 104-55 lead with about 4 minutes remaining. Rhode Island had shot 20 for 30 (67%) to grab a 53-30 halftime lead. The Stingers shot 45.5% for the game including 12 for 23 in the first half and also went an efficient 10-22 from three point land but could not overcome 23 turnovers. Concordia was led by Buckley's 22 points on 3-5 3's and added 4 rebounds and 6 assists. The Stingers were again without 6'1" Damian Buckley who has not played since the first game of the Stingers five game tour.
